How to Wax Your Chest: 7 Simple Tips

How to Wax Your Chest: 7 Simple Tips

Let's talk manscaping. Men, we know the majority of you are doing it. Research suggests 60 -70% of men have at least tried or are currently trimming or removing unwanted body hair. From overgrown brows, to furry backs, your removing it all. And what about chest hair? If you prefer to sport the hairless look, we beg you please, do not resort to shaving your chest!

We have a solution that is going to make your hair removal 10x easier. Waxing provides the smoothest results possible and keeps you hairfree for 4+ weeks. Ditch the razor and read these 7 simple tips to feel like a new man.

1) Gather Your Supplies

Make sure you have all the supplies on hand before getting started.

  • Wax
  • Digital Wax Warmer Machine
  • Pre/Post- Wax Oils
  • Applicator Sticks

To make it easier for you, you can shop our starter kit here.

2) Choose a Wax Type

Using the right wax ensures the best results possible. When waxing a sensitive area like your chest, you want to minimize pain and sensitivity as much as possible. We recommend hard wax which doesn't require cloth strips. Hard wax is gentle, yet gets the job done as it targets hair and doesn't stick to the skin. Try our highly recommended wax that works especially well on thick stubborn hair.

3) Prep Your Chest

If this is your first time waxing your chest, it's not uncommon to experience slight discomfort and lightly bleed (small dots of blood at the pore's site is normal).  If you're feeling nervous, invite a friend over to lighten the mood and help out if needed. Don't forget to clean your chest to remove dirt and oils before starting. You got this!

4) Understand Your Technique

Notice the hair growth pattern and see what direction the hair is growing. This is important because when applying the wax you want to apply with the hair growth direction. This leads to a smooth application! Chest hair often grows in a swirled pattern so you may need to wax in multiple directions. Once applied, simply allow the wax to harden and while pulling your skin taught, pull in the opposite direction.

5) Take Care of Your Skin After Waxing

Follow up with our post-wax oil to soothe the skin and remove any excess wax residue. Now before you decide to hit the beach make sure you've let your pores close (24 hours). For more in-depth information feel free to read up on what to consider before waxing!

6) Be Patient In Between Waxes

Try not to shave in between sessions as it will only cause the hair to come back thick once again. Enjoy the full benefits of waxing and let your hair grow thinner and more sparse as time goes on. Once your hairs are back to the ½ inch mark, you're ready for a follow-up wax!

7) Chill Out

As much as you might be excited to show off that smooth chest- think twice about anything that can be irritating. This included heavy-duty workouts. You don't want to sweat and clog the pores which could lead to irritation or ingrown hairs.

Enjoy a razor burn free chest that lasts weeks! We know you have what it takes to battle that chest hair and we hope we've made the experience easier for you! Let us know how we can help further if needed at aloha@koluawax.us!
